Earlier in the year we had the pleasure of helping out Thomas Hassall Anglican College with their annual Open Day. We spoke to Jo Hutchens, Director of Marketing, Enrolments and Community Relations at the college about their open day and why they’ve been using custom printed paper cups.
What is the overall objective of the campaign/event that the printed paper cups were used for?
Jo Hutchens: We initially produced our Thomas Hassall Anglican College branded cups for our Open Day. This is an annual marketing event for prospective parents and students to view our school ‘in action’. As guests arrive, they are greeted by parent volunteers and offered refreshments prior to a presentation from our Principal and tour of the College, guided by current students. We offer coffee to all the guests in our branded paper cups – and this is always received very well.
The printed cups helps us communicate our message of a caring and professional environment and they have been so well received that we now use them for all our functions throughout the year!
What other types of advertising have you used for the Open Days?
Jo Hutchens: We use a combination of press, letterbox flyers website and digital marketing to advertise our events. The cups do a great job of representing us and our branding on the day of the event.
Based on your experience, what sort of businesses would you recommend might benefit from branded paper cups?
Jo Hutchens: I believe any business can really benefit from branded cups. The way we looked at it was, ‘why not go the extra step’. Your own personalised branding sets you apart and shows you care about the details.
